International Museum Day is marked annually on May 18th and was started in 1977 by the International Council of Museums to celebrate institutions around the world. The aim is to celebrate museums as an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures, and development of mutual understanding, cooperation, and peace among peoples. As incomparable places of discovery, museums teach us about our past and open our minds to new ideas - two essential steps in building a better future.

Take a stroll around Exton Park (located at Swedesford Rd. and Church Farm Ln.) to enjoy the lovely weather and come to see our newly installed StoryWalk® book in collaboration with our Summer Reading theme ‘Oceans of Possibilities.’ This summer we are featuring the Caldecott Honor-winning book “A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever” written and illustrated by Marla Frazee. She wonderfully captures the very essence of summer vacation and what it means to be a kid in this moving and hilarious celebration of young boys, childhood friendships, and the power of the imagination. Take a picture with your favorite page and don’t forget to tag us! #storywalk #ChesterCountyPA #chescolibraries
