Virtual Program: Yin Yoga

Join us for Yin Yoga, Tuesday, August 25, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Join Yoga instructor Heather from Three Crows and a Raven Yoga for a Yin Yoga session. The purpose of yin yoga is to restore your body’s ability to move with fluidity. This in turn develops the flow of “chi”, the Chinese medicine practice based on the meridian centers in your body to allow live force energy to flow freely. Each posture creates a compression or a friction within the connective tissues in the body causing the blood to rush to these areas rehydrating the tissues. A yin practice consists of 4 to 6 postures that are held for an extended amount of time, activating the release of tension and toxins, encouraging rehydration and elongation in the connective tissues of focus. Yin is traditionally practiced in silence so that the practitioner can meditate through the postures, making this a mindful practice as well as a continuous surrender into the uncomfortable. This practice is appropriate for all levels, and modifications are offered. Props for this class include: blocks (or books), pillows and blanket.

Please register for the program: Tuesday, August 25, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
