Tails and Tales Summer Reading 2021

Tails and Tales and Patch Power 2021

Summer is almost upon us!  What will you do with your summer?  Reading or listening to books each day is a great way to keep yourself entertained, not to mention all the exciting people you meet and places to go in the books that you read!

Visit the library in person or online beginning June 7 to get started on your summer reading.  Participants from Pre-K to Grade 5 are encouraged to read or listen to books for 30 minutes or more every day all summer, then record your accomplishments through the Tails and Tales: Patch Power 2021 website or app.

You can also complete MISSIONS, by completing at-home activities and attending Virtual Programs, to earn patches!  In addition to our patches from years before, we have 4 new patches to earn this summer: Mythic Hero, Time Traveler, Sprout Scouts, and Prehistoric Explorer!  Stay tuned to our events calendar for some grand virtual programs that you can attend this summer, beginning June 28!

BEFORE KINDERGARTEN

Even children under 3 years can participate this summer by signing up for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! Research has shown that listening to books each day helps children to develop the important pre-reading skills that provide a solid foundation for learning to read — a key to learning and school success. Read at least 100 books this summer to earn a special award!
