Join us for this exciting new panel featuring the unique perspectives of local small business owners as they share their entrepreneurship stories: how they got started, the resources they used, the lessons they learned along the way, and the advice they’d give people looking to start or grow their own business now.

Virtual Program: Yoga – Slow Flow

Join us for Yoga – Slow Flow, Tuesday, August 11, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Join Yoga instructor Heather from Three Crows and a Raven Yoga for a Slow Flow session. Slow flow is a form of yoga where postures are held for longer periods of time and are typically modified to create an accessible practice for people at all levels of their yogic journey. The non-modified postures are also demonstrated so that the practitioner can decide the form of the posture they would like to incorporate into their personal practice for that day. Prop usage is encouraged and vinyasa are usually at a minimum and or modified. This class is ideal for the beginner student or a student that is just getting back into their yoga practice after injury or surgery. Props for this class include: yoga blocks (or books), pillows and a blanket.

Citizens Minority Small Business Grants

MINORITY-OWNED BUSINESSES MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A $15,000 GRANT.

Small businesses are the backbone to our economy, and diverse small business ownership is critical to the growth and success of our local communities. In recognition, Citizens will award 100 minority-owned businesses with grants of $15,000 each, a total of $1.5 million overall.

 

To apply, a business must be:

  • At least 51% minority owned, operated and controlled by an Asian American, Black American, Hispanic American or Native American
  • Either a Citizens Bank Business Banking account holder or, if not a Citizens customer, based within our 11-state footprint
  • In business for at least one year, with annual revenue of no more than $1 million

Eligible businesses can submit a statement (up to 150 words) describing how they would use the grant to strengthen and sustain both their business and their community.

Virtual Program: Virtual Stitch ‘n Time Needle Arts Group

Join us for the Stitch ‘n Time Needle Arts Group, Monday, August 10, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Sometimes the most difficult part of any project is finding the time to work on it! Wouldn’t it be great to have a time set aside just to work on your project in the company of other like-minded people? Enjoy friendly tips, camaraderie and much needed time! Learn new skills or build on old ones. Whether you knit, crochet, cross stitch, needle point, weave, quilt, sew or any of the other needle crafts, you are welcome to join the group!

Virtual Program: Chair Yoga

Join us for Chair Yoga, Tuesday, August 4, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Join Yoga instructor Heather from Three Crows and a Raven Yoga for a Chair Yoga session. Chair yoga is an all-inclusive yoga practice, using a chair as the main prop. The chair will be used to sit on, or as a tool to assist with balance. Typical postures that are taught in a vinyasa class are modified in this type of yoga with the use of a chair. This type of yoga is ideal for someone who has a difficult time with balance or moving from ground to standing positions.
